Sorgunu düşününce aklıma sıcak hatıralar geliyor. 13 Eylülden 20 Eylül 2014'e kadar 9 farklı ülkeden 30 gençle Erasmus+ projesine katıldım. İstanbul'dan zaten aşina olduğum Türk misafirperverliği Sorgun'da daha da çoktu. Ezan sesiyle uyanmak beni mutlu ediyordu ve güne havuza girmeyle başlamak öğrendiğim birkaç Türkçe kelimeyi pratik etme şansı da veriyordu. Sağlam ve hoş kahvaltıdan sonra program başlıyordu. 

Birbirimizi kültürel hassasiyet konulu eğitim, organizasyon ve Erasmus imkanları ve daha fazlası sayesinde çok iyi tanıma şansı elde ettik. Üniversitede misafir edildik, orada genç işsizlik ve küreselleşme konularında konuştuk, Sorgun, Yozgat ve Sarıkaya'da belediyede ve valilikte ağırlandık, orada onlarla konuşma ve sorularımız sorma şansı elde ettik. Bu yolla çok şey öğrendik. 

Sohbetler ilginçti ama her şey Türkçe olduğu için bazen çok yoğundu. Aytaç çeviri işinde çok başarılıydı. Ağırlık iş konusu ve dolaysıyla eğitimin üzerineydi. Bu da bize birçok okulu ve eğitim kurumunu görme imkanı sağladı; eğitim merkezlerindeki çeşitlilik ve kültür ve sanata olan ilgi beni çok etkiledi. Ziyaret ettiğimiz çoğu üniversite ve okula öğrenciler neredeyse bedava diyebileceğimiz ücretlere gidebiliyordu, gerçekten çok düşük ücretler bulunmakta. Ama şunu da anlıyorum ki özel üniversiteye gitmek çok pahalı ve sadece zenginler için. Bu programa katıldığım için gerçekten mutluyum. Bir hafta farklı insanlarla vakit geçirmek gerçekten değerliydi. 

Türkiye, işsizlik, kendi toplumumuzdaki normlar ve değerler ve uyuşturucular konusunda Hollanda'daki liberal politikalar ve örneğin homoseksüellik hakkında tartıştık ve çok konuştuk. Farklı kültür ve dini geçmişten gelen insanlarla birlikte olmakla önyargılar kalkıyor ve daha açık fikirli oluyorsun. Ama en önemlisi: birlikte çok eğlendik. 

Görkemli Kapadokya'ya giderkenki yolculuğumuzda otobüsteki dansı, Hamamda kadınlar partisinde Türk bayanlarla dans edişimizi, vali tarafından davet edilişimizi asla unutmayacağım. Bu benim Türk yaşamını ve kültürünü orada yaşayan tüm güzel insanlarla daha çok anlamamı sağladı. Bunu mümkün kılan herkese teşekkürler!

When I think about Sorgun warm memories come back to my mind. From the 13th till the 20thof September 2014 I participated in the Erasmus+ project, together with 30 youngsters from nine different countries. The warm Turkish hospitality I already knew from Istanbul was even warmer in Sorgun. To wake up with the sound of the Azan made me happy and the day started with a refreshing dive into the swimming pool, where I could practise the few Turkish words I learned. And after the extensive and lovely breakfast it was time for the program. 

We got to know each other very well, with a training course on cultural sensibility, the organization and possibilities of Erasmus and many more. We were guests at the university where we spoke about youth unemployment and globalization, we were welcome at the mayor and governors in Sorgun, Yozgat and Sarikaya, where we had the possibility to talk with them and ask our questions. 

This way we learned a lot. The conversations were interesting but sometimes very intense since everything was in Turkish. Aytac did a great job in translating for us. The focus was on employment and therefore also education. This gave us the chance to visit many schools and education institutions; I am impressed by the variety and attention to culture and arts at the education centres. 

At most universities and schools we visited students could almost attend for free, there are really low fees. But I also understood that to study at a private university is very expensive and only for the rich.I am really happy that I had the chance to participate in this program. It was really valuable to spend a week with all the different people. We discussed and talked a lot, about Turkey, unemployment, norms and values in our own society and the liberal policies in Holland on drugs and homosexuality for example. Prejudices are taken away and you become more open minded speaking with people with different cultural and religious backgrounds. But most important: we had a lot of fun together. 

I will never forget the dancing in the bus on our way to visit grandiose Cappadokya, the ladies party in the Hamam where we were dancing with the Turkish women and the invitationfor diner by the mayor. This made me understand even more the Turkish life and culture, with all the beautiful people who live there. Thanks to all who made this possible!
